JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN

Responsibilities:
Performs rough and finished electrical installation.
Journeyman Electrician will install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain, residential and commercial electrical systems.
Measure, cut, bend, thread, and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems.
Identifying and separating wire by color, and wire management.
Feed to, pull into, and terminate wire and cable within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, switch gear, receptacles, switches, etc.
Ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) .
Carrying material and tools from one location to location.
Working on extension ladders, scaffolds and scissor lifts (possible up to 100 feet)
Cleaning up of work areas as well as job site.
Wear Personal Protective equipment at all times while on job site.
Qualifications:
Must have valid California Journeyman Electrician Certificate.
3-5 Years residential/commercial electrical experience.
Must have comprehensive knowledge of pipe bending, Ohm’s law, 3 and 4 way switching, wire pulling and electrical code comprehension.
Must possess problem solving skills and be able to work independently and within team environments.
Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Must have valid/current driver’s license.
Must adhere to all OSHA and Contemporary Electric, Inc. safety practices and procedures.
Ability to: Read and interpret blueprints and other drawings; fabricate various circuits as required; diagnose problems, defects and hazards in new and existing electrical installations and equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Performing this job requires use of hands to fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk, hear, stand climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
